Finished my degree!

Image
Hey everyone, it's been a while! My last exam was on 4th June and I have now finished uni, which is mad. I'm starting full-time at Weatherquest on 1st July, so am making the most of my free time before then. Sadly it's not as fun as it sounds, I've been doing life admin, cleaning and organising! Since I wrote my last blog post in early May, life has been mostly revision, but I'm gonna post some pictures of my favourite moments. Below is Elin and I having our first snakebites in the SU bar after an exam (only 4 years late!). During the middle of May, Tom and I ran the Pretty Muddy Race for Life, in aid of Cancer Research. Tom filmed the whole thing, you can watch it here ! For Elin, Mollie and I's birthdays we went to Haggle, a Turkish restaurant in Norwich. It was awesome and so lovely to dress up. We then went to my last ever (probably) Damn Good LCR night!!  Then it was my birthday (mid-exams) so I took the day off and went to the beach.

Green Screen Laughs, Mum & Dad's Silver Anniversary & Jim Bacon's Retirement!

Hey everyone! Goodness me it's been a while! It's that time of year where revision really starts to spoil things!! Sadly, it leaves me very little time to make my weather forecast videos, so I'm gonna have to put them on hold until my exams are over in June. Aside from revision, I've managed to fit in some pretty awesome things over the last few weeks! Firstly, I have to show you this awesome sunset from the other week! Such vibrant colours! It's things like this that I love most about the weather. Last Friday I got to have a play around with the green screen at work, as we're developing an exciting new product for our customers! We had such a laugh! It was great to have a proper go and I think I'm definitely getting better. At least it's not painful to watch anymore!! I love working with such an awesome group of people!! Last weekend we celebrated my parents silver wedding anniversary and I made them a cake to celebrate their 2

Warming up!

Hello everyone! I'm back!! In the first week of April, Tom and I went skiing in the three valleys in France, which was amazing. Lovely sunshine and bluebird days as well as a massive snow dump midweek! Plus I found a weather station! Here are a selection of my favourite pictures, and there will be a video to come once Tom or I have found the time to edit it. For the last week it's been Easter break so I've been getting my teeth into my essay on the North Atlantic storm track, as well as doing some revision for my exams in May. Today I ran the Bungay 10k, and got a personal best! My phone says I ran it in roughly 55 minutes, but I haven't got my chip time yet. Tom ran the marathon and absolutely smashed it, personal best for him too! He ran it in 4 hrs 42 mins, almost 40 minutes faster than last year!! Despite my aching legs, I have managed to put together a forecast video for you! Take at look to find out whats going on in East Anglia this

Settled and sunny

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great weekend. It's been a lush sunny day today! From what I can recall, it's not been a bad week either! On Tuesday, I sent my phone off to be repaired so sadly have only a few weather photos this week. Monday was lovely, I got pretty much the same photo as I've taken in previous weeks, but it is one of my favourite spots. Tuesday was rather cloudy, but we got to watch some of the guys from work launch a weather balloon while we were in our palaeoclimatology practical, which was fun! It definitely does not take much to distract us during these sessions!! I particularly liked the clouds as I drove home on Tuesday.  And that was the last photo I took before I had to send my phone away. I've really missed having it on me to take weather pics, but I am loving the break from social media! I don't think I've ever gone this long without checking Instagram. It was a bit gutting seeing some awesome asperitas clo

High pressure attempting to take charge

Hello everyone! I hope you've had a great week. We've had pretty cool weather this week! A lot of sunshine and showers, giving us some v interesting clouds. Last Sunday, we had a brief shower of hail. Needless to say, I got far too excited. All of these showers do produce some lovely cloud pics. Monday was a lovely day, with a brief ridge of high pressure giving us a lovely sunny day - most of which I spent inside! I took this photo as I left the IT lab on Monday afternoon. Tuesday was not so nice, it rained for the majority of the day, making my concrete uni look very sad! However, by the time I got home, things were looking up and we had a lovely sunset. On Thursday, I had a day at home, and enjoyed the sunshine and showers once again, taking my doggos out for a walk during a sunny spell. On Friday I took this (v poor quality) picture on my way to a lecture, I loved how threatening the clouds looked! A week later, we've had

Rain, rain, go away

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a nice weekend! Unfortunately, a fairly hungover Zoë did not fancy doing a podcast/video/blog post last Sunday, so apologies if you missed it. Never fear though, I'm back and bringing you a video containing weather for the next few days! Not before we've taken a look back at this weeks weather pics though! Sadly, I only have a few, because the weather's not very interesting right now. Having said that, Tuesday wasn't a bad day! Although, I was trapped inside a lab at uni and unable to enjoy the sunshine. It's so much harder to get a nice photo of the weather when it's so dull! This was taken yesterday in my usual spot as I walk to my lectures! Crazy to think that on Wednesday last week we were enjoying the sunshine and having a picnic on the grass by the trees! It's been a nice day today though! Sunshine and showers! I took the babies for a walk and got some nice cloud pics. Today I finally f

Hey everyone! Hope you've had a great week enjoying this gorgeous, yet slightly unseasonal weather! With all these clear skies and light winds overnight, we've had plenty of chilly nights with lots of mist and fog around. I took this picture on Sunday morning, I love the way you can see the blue sky and clouds above the layer of fog: It then proceeded to be a lovely sunny day, which was particularly enjoyed by my dog Fleur. And it became quite an exciting week, with plenty of record-breaking weather. Monday saw the first time that 20C was recorded in the UK during the winter months and Tuesday proceeded to be even warmer! When I got up for yoga at 6am on Monday morning, it was light for the first time with a few mist and fog patches around once again. I spent the afternoon revising(sunbathing) at Toms house and it was glorious. Tuesday was definitely the best day. We had a picnic lunch outside between lectures and then bought ice creams! It was the
